Frequently asked

What happens after the 7 free days?

+

You're charged $297 for the year and nothing else changes โ€” you keep the library, the monthly lessons, the reviews and the room. Cancel before day seven and you're charged nothing at all.

Can I cancel later?

+

Any time, in one click from your account. No email, no asking. You keep access until the end of the year you've already paid for.

I already bought Modern Cinematography. What happens to my access?

+

Nothing changes. I promised lifetime access and that stands โ€” the course stays yours exactly as it was. Membership is a separate thing on top: a new lesson every month, the live reviews, and the room. You don't need to join to keep what you already have.

What actually happens every month?

+

One new lesson, and one live session where I pull members' work apart shot by shot. Between them there's the chat โ€” post a frame, ask what's wrong with it, get an answer from me and from people who shoot for a living.

Why can't I just learn this on YouTube?

+

YouTube teaches techniques. This teaches a system. On YouTube I answer one question per video โ€” a booklight setup, exposing for skin, building atmosphere. Each one stands alone and none of them connect. What's inside here is the connective tissue: the framework that ties individual techniques into a working method, from reading a script to the final grade. And then there's the part YouTube can't do at all โ€” someone looking at your footage and telling you what's actually wrong with it.

I'm a beginner. Will this be too advanced for me?

+

The first module covers the fundamentals to get everyone on the same page. But this isn't a basic course โ€” we move quickly into professional workflows. If you're willing to put in the work, it will save you years of trial and error.

Do I need expensive gear or a cinema camera?

+

No. Light behaves the same way whether you shoot on an ARRI Alexa or a mirrorless camera. The focus here is on how to see and shape light, how to tie it to the story, and how to build a workflow you can repeat. The goal is your eye, not your kit.

Are the lessons subtitled?

+

Yes โ€” English, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Arabic, Japanese and Chinese.
