Portfolio review

Session 1

5-Project Portfolio Tear-Down

  • Visual Deconstruction: A comprehensive breakdown of your composition, lighting, and post-production workflow. We will also dissect your approach to locations, production design, and editing choices.
  • Building the Foundation: Using your current portfolio as a baseline, we will detail exactly how to elevate your visuals.
  • Assignment 1: You leave with your first practical assignment, built around your weakest spot.

Session 2

Implementation & Case Studies

  • Assignment Review: We go through your first assignment shot by shot, and you get the next one, plus my educational materials curated for your growth.
  • Targeted Q&A: A dedicated session to resolve all your pre-prepared technical and creative questions.
  • Behind-the-Lens Analysis: We will deconstruct 5 of my professional projects (of your choice), revealing the exact artistic techniques, on-set “hacks,” and decision-making processes behind them.
Finding your artistic direction

Session 3

Strategy & Artistic Direction

  • Implementation Review: A deep-dive into your second assignment to analyze your practical work, troubleshoot technical challenges, and refine your execution.
  • Finding Your Vision: Using tailored references from cinema, classic art, and photography, we will pinpoint your unique strengths and define your artistic direction.
  • Assignment 3: The last practical assignment, aimed at the direction we’ve just defined.
Pre-production for the big project

Session 4

Your Big Project: Pre-Production

  • Final Assignment Review: We close out the practical stage and lock in what you’ve learned.
  • Choose Your Project: A short doc, a spec ad, or a music video — whatever moves your career forward.
  • The Plan: Together we build the treatment, references, lighting plan, and shot list before you shoot a single frame.
Footage review

Session 5

Shoot Review

  • Footage Breakdown: We go through your footage shot by shot — lighting, composition, camera — what worked and what didn’t.
  • Fix List: You leave knowing exactly what to fix in the edit and grade, or what’s worth reshooting.
Final cut

Session 6

Final Cut & Your Roadmap

  • Final Review: We review the finished piece together — edit, color, and overall impact.
  • Your Reel: Where this project goes in your portfolio and how to present it to clients.
  • The Future Roadmap: You leave with a personalized action plan for your upcoming productions — equipping you to build your brand, elevate your visuals, and confidently approach high-end clients.
